In 1978 Martyn started his maritime career as a Partner at R.B. Hunt & Partners, London – a ship brokerage firm involved in the sale & purchase, and chartering of commercial seagoing vessels. Martyn represented the firm at the Baltic Exchange and subsequently became a shipowner of cargo vessels.

His know-how of ship management and chartering, and his interest in superyachts naturally led Martyn to establish Camberley International over a decade ago.

Born and raised in The Netherlands he moved thereupon to warmer climes to further his entrepreneurial instincts, becoming an industry veteran known for his straight-talking style and integrity.
